Introducing the first part of what could prove to be a very long series.
Chris Messenger aka ‘English Ned’
Chris Messenger is 47, and resides in the Great Sutton area of his hometown, Ellesmere Port.
Messenger is fairly new in the far-right auditor scene – initially he was turning up at demonstrations in Manchester just for the fun of attacking “fucking lefty scum” and “Palestinian cunts” – as he was regularly overheard screaming through the livestreams of his more experienced grifter friends, Kelsea Cunliffe and Rachel Davies, who we’ll be coming back to later in this series.
Chris soon learned that some easy money was to be made by acting up on camera, and ‘English Ned’ was born. He has gone on to become one of the most vile grifters out there, in a very competitive field.
Chris is regularly violent towards antifascists, although his levels of bravery have been known to deteriorate rapidly when he doesn’t have a large numbers advantage, or the police to protect him.
In fact, here at ARC we have heard credible rumours that place Chris close to the police when it serves him well.
Not only will he run to the police when antifascists stand their ground in the face of his attacks, but he is alleged to have provided police with evidence that incriminates his so-called “comrades” as part of their regular coordinated attacks in Manchester.
Chris regularly travels from Ellesmere Port into Chester by bus – where his partner Sophie works as a tattoo artist – before getting the bus or train to Manchester to start his ‘work’.
